New European scarfs

This first scarf I purchased at Pier One store to use as a pattern, it is very much like the scarves I saw for much more all over Europe. I said when I saw them the first time, I could make that. The dimentions are 70 inches by 25 inches with lace on the triangle side of the scarf. Very easy...

The second scarf is made from fabric off the sale rack at JoAnn's and marked down lace from JoAnn's not bad for my first try, I would not use fabric like that again, it needs a little more body, it tended to roll which was not easy to sew, but for a scarf who cares as you would tie it such that the straight side does not show.

Spring Purse

Here is the latest purse, this took a half a yard of the daisy fabric and two blue fat quarters and some iron on pellon.  It is an easy purse, with two inside and one outside pocket.  Has a snap to hold things in yours purse.  The  daisy on the front for embellishment, this came from my hat inspiration, I had left over flowers.

New Hat Bands for every outfit...

Here are my new Hat bands, one package of some little girls hair bands in bright colors, and a bouquet of 1/2 off flowers from Hobby Lobby and a bling for the center and a glue gun and I now have a hat to match several outfits. I first thought of ribbon, but then it would clash with some things I wear. So this made it changable. You want to remove the plastic parts for each flower, dot glue between the layers, glue on the bling, then glue that to the band. Easy-peasy as Sookie says, yes I am a True Blood fan...

My First try at making buttons

Yesterday I made my first try at buttons.  I used some molding clay from Hobby Lobby and the following tools:

The knife was to cut of excess clay, the pill bottle was the perfect size to cut out the buttons, the chopstick was for the holes and the rolling pin for rolling out.  (warning do not use your good one)  Then I put the clear coat on the front of the buttons, who cares about the back.  Oh and you need the parchment paper for your baking sheet, this is a must also.  Here is one of them.  I need to figure out a good stamp for the buttons, I tried using other buttons, it was ok, but could be better.

Free pattern site.

Here is where I found a lot of free patterns for purses.

My first bag, it was made from fat quarters

This was my first bag, I used fat quarters I found and a pattern I paid 1 dollar for.  This bag goes everywhere with me in my car and is used at the farmers market when shopping.

Pink butterfly Jewerly roll.

I made this for traveling and carrying my jewerly in so they do not get all tangled. I used little bags used for rice at weddings, they were cheap and easy.   I sewed them onto my quilted butterfly roll and put a pink ribbon to tie it up.

Second Purse I made stripes...

This is made from fat quarters, and pelon, it was a free tote bag from Joanne's Fabrics.

I bought this canvas bag from Joanne's but could not leave it alone.

I cut a butterfly out of this wonderful pink fabric, and used heat pelon to adhere to the bag, then cross-stiched it to the canvas and added antennas.   I love this bag, carry's my Kindle to Doctor appointments.

Pot holders for presents.

All of these were from my own patterns, I included heat resistant matting inside to make them heat proof.  The pattern is off of the one I had gotten and love, I no longer burn my hands when taking things out of the oven.

Purse I made for my Nail tech.

More Yo-Yos with bling

I loved this purse, but the handles on this pattern were to short.  I had to modify it with curtain rings to make them longer.   Next time I will just increase the length on the pattern.  Simpicity Pattern 2750
